Our New Orleans Infragard chapter is part of the FBI's public-private partnership established to generate a community of support against terrorism and crime in New Orleans. Within southeast Louisiana, we provide an umbrella communication structure for members to get to know different segments in our, and other communities in the US, before, during and after a crisis. We also affiliate with Infragard chapters in other cities, along the Gulf Coast, and with other like minded organizations to share community knowledge, education and information.
InfraGard is an organization dedicated to the protection of the United States and the American people. In order to maintain a level of trust within the membership, all applicants undergo a background check performed by the FBI (for this reason InfraGard membership is currently limited to United States citizens). Applications are then screened according to a defined criteria and then passed to the local chapter for final acceptance (individual chapters may have more strict criteria).

Current Member Address Changes: To change email, address or other personal information you must call the Infragard Help Desk. The volunteer board members of Infragard have no control over the FBI's listserv or membership lists. The only way you can have any of your Infragard information changed is to contact the FBI Infragard Help Desk at LSU. The telephone number is: 877-861-6298.

Application process
Finally, before you fill out the two forms, please read the InfraGard Code of Ethics and browse the other Policies and Procedures. As a member of InfraGard, you will be expected to abide by these guidelines.
Chapter coordinators, leaders and members can help answer questions about InfraGard membership and the application process.
Fill out the chapter form, then follow the link in the confirmation note, to the FBI form. You must fill out both forms.
The FBI will run the security check and process approved applications. You should be notified within 30 days if your application has been approved and will recieve a membership packet by postal mail.
The following United States Government-issued Security Clearances are Qualified Substitutes for the records check required for InfraGard Membership:
- Confidential
- Secret
- Top Secret
An InfraGard Applicant/Member may submit evidence of their possession of one of the above clearances to expedite the initial processing and periodic renewal of their InfraGard Membership.
