The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Weapons of Mass Destruction Directorate, the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, and Department of Defense are co-hosting the Joint Maritime CIKR Protection, Coordination and Response Workshop. This workshop will bring together representatives from Federal, State, local law enforcement, industry stakeholders and other partners. The purpose of this workshop is to test enhanced communication between all partners in a WMD maritime related threat, WMD crisis response, and interagency roles and responsibilities for this National priority. This operational activity will ensure attendees receive intelligence threat information and gain a greater understanding of how to recognize suspicious activity and how to report such activity to law enforcement and the FBI for the purpose of developing tripwires and countermeasures. Space is limited and prospective attendees can register on-line.
Summer 2011 - Proposed Louisiana Chapter Reorganization to Form InfraGard Louisiana Members Alliance
- To minimize the overhead necessary for chapter maintenance for the FBI
- To meet all FBI requirements for chapter incorporation with minimum administrative paperwork
- To minimize the chapter officer's adminstrative and financial paperwork
- To consolidate Director and Officer liability insurance
- To focus all chapters on mutually beneficial goals and expand existing SIGs state wide
- To expand InfraGard's breadth and outreach into smaller Louisiana communities.
- To provide a more unified image and appearance to other State agencies.

Becoming Cyber Rugged -- What every US resident needs to know about computers on the Internet to be safe in the 21st Century. This course describes new digital frontier concepts like digital information is an asset, convergence, how to evauate safety and security on the Internet, how to protect from Internet scams, why is Web 2.0 dangerous when "The Web" wasn't, malicious software (malware), phishing, identity theft, protecting children on Facebook and while surfing, protecting PCs from phishing, fraud and other dangers, backing up information, 10 top actions to keep your information, computer, and identity safe and what to do if the worst happens. Fundamentals are presented, then concrete actions to protect home and small business computers are given in each topic. It is updated regularly. FBI-SOS -- 3rd- 8th grade Cyber Education Program. Infragard is working with the FBI-SOS program to get cyber education into New Orleans public schools. Nova Southeastern University in Florida developed a self contained. Schools across the country sign up on the website, then in class students complete Internet treasure hunts to collect information about Safe Online Surfing. Students take quizzes and their scores are compared to those of others around the country. The winning school each month wins a visit from a real FBI agent. See http://fbi-sos.org for details.
