Monday - Wednesday Joint Maritime Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources Protection, Coordination and Response New Orleans, LA Event Information:
The goal of the workshop is to test the integrated response capabilities in the event of intelligence indicating that a weapon of mass destruction (WMD) is bound for New Orleans. Federal, state and local government officials from Louisiana and surrounding states will discuss cross-cutting topics of interest relative to the protection of and response to WMD or terrorist attacks on Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (CIKR). Additionally, the workshop will increase awareness and educate participants on the roles and responsibilities of various federal, state and local agencies in the event of a multi-sector martime event. Emphasis will be placed on the roles of law enforcement concerning martime and CIKR related terrorist or criminal events. This workshop will also raise overall awareness about the interdependencies across critical infrastructure sectors and allow participants to apply lessons learned during the training through a tabletop exercise. Other participating agencies include: Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, United States Coast Guard, state and local police departments, and many more.
